How much does a video cost?

Video is one of the most effective marketing tools today, which is why practically everyone wants one. One of the first questions clients often ask is: How much will it cost?

Our answer: anywhere from a few hundred to ten thousand euros. Without more details, it's impossible to give a better estimate. It's like asking how much a car costs: a used Felicia might cost a few hundred, while a Lamborghini will set you back thousands. Video works the same way. What matters?

Length:

Contrary to what many think, length isn't always the key factor. Of course, a one-hour documentary of similar quality to a 3-minute aftermovie will cost more, but a 30-second high-end commercial could easily surpass both. What really matters is the quality and complexity of the production.

Technical approach:

You can choose between animation, live-action filming, or a combination of both. Each has its pros and cons, and again, you can't say one is inherently cheaper than the other. For animation, costs depend on client requirements and complexity (2D vs. 3D). For live-action, costs depend on the quality and price of actors, stunt performers, and the equipment used.

Equipment:

You can shoot with your smartphone, or use FullHD/4K cameras, professional lighting, and high-quality audio. Naturally, the result will be several levels higher in quality if professional equipment is used. The choice depends entirely on your expectations.

Investment in quality:

Other factors affecting the final cost include location choice, studio rental, setting, and background music (a song by Madonna won't be cheap). Most importantly, experience and skill matter.

Clients are often tempted by a low price and may hire an inexperienced student just starting in video production to get their first projects. While this doesn't necessarily mean the result will fail, established production companies provide a much higher guarantee that the video will meet your expectations.
